Our products in general do not use computers; they are simple. However the GSR2 instrument can be connected by the CalmLink system to a PC to display changes in the state of the user on the screen in a large variety of ways. Some are simple and like computer games; others are images that change as the user relaxes or becomes more aroused.
CalmLink comprises a CD ROM of Software and a cable to connect your GSR2 instrument to the Microphone socket on your PC. It offers audible feedback in the form of tunes and melodic sounds, and visual feedback in the form of images and graphs, which change slowly as the user relaxes or tenses. Data can be saved onto the PC for later analysis. There is no electrical connection through the cable.
It assumes Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000 or XP operating system and a Pentium 4 1.7GHz processor is recommended. It is not compatible with Vista or with Intel Core Duo processors, though work is being done to achieve compatibility. Also required are a Soundblaster-compatible sound card with a Microphone input socket, 10MBytes of hard disc space and 256MB or more of RAM, as well as a CD Drive (or network connection to such a drive). It also provides feedback of Temperature if that probe is attached to a finger.
The CalmLink web site gives examples of the feedback screens and the User's Manual is available as a PDF. There is a Yahoo Group which provides support for users.
